Dental Bridges: The Facts

Posted .

If you’ve ever lost a tooth, you probably understand that some tasks that had been simple can be much more difficult. For instance, if you’re missing teeth you could struggle to pronounce some sounds and to chew comfortably. Luckily, there are several options you can consider—including a dental bridge.

Dental bridges, which are designed to match the color and appearance of your natural teeth, are also anchored by your natural teeth. If this isn’t possible, our team may attach your bridge to an implant. In other instances, we could use an implant and a natural tooth to secure your bridge.

Typically, bridges are made to replace up to three consecutive teeth. Once a bridge is placed, your smile should look and feel natural. In fact, once a bridge is placed, you’ll be able to speak regularly, and chew and eat comfortably again.

In order to give you the best bridge possible, our team may need you to visit our office twice. During the first visit, we’ll measure your teeth to ensure that your bridge looks and feels like your natural teeth. We’ll also place a temporary bridge during your first appointment. When you come for your second visit, we’ll place your new bridge.
